What’s a real marketHER without time spent in the actual market? My marketing journey was homegrown—shaped by real-life experiences long before the degree came along. While I do have the credentials, what truly sets me apart, especially in the social media and digital marketing space—is something many marketers lack: hands-on, real-world experience

It all started with a garrulous post.

I’ve always been long-winded. Even as a teenager, I had a lot to say—only difference now? I was finally getting paid for it. I became known for my dissertation-length Instagram and Facebook captions. I never cared if people read them; I just needed to get the words out. Eventually, to spare my loved ones who just wanted to scroll through cute family pictures without the essays, I started a blog—The Christian Way.

It was raw, daily storytelling about motherhood, race, culture, and balancing life as a military wife, a mom, and a first-gen college student (at the time). What started as a personal outlet started gaining traction, especially in my hometown. My platform bled into Instagram and that’s where my micro-influencer journey began—with collaborations from brands like Dunkin’, Topgolf, Fabletics, Disney+, and more.

One of the highlights? A campaign with my hometown, Augusta, Georgia—the birthplace of the Masters and James Brown. That collab put my family on a billboard and the cover of the city’s magazine. Not because we had the biggest following or the prettiest feed—but because we were real. The Visit Augusta team said people could see themselves in us. That meant everything.

Eventually, the blog faded and my career in micro-influencing took off. That’s when I started to really understand the business of social media—not the textbook version, but the kind of knowledge you only get from being in the trenches.

Yes, I did it all: engagement pods, mommy follow trains, even bought followers (because let’s be honest—most people have). Those experiences taught me the biggest lesson of all: almost nothing on social media is as it seems. But it’s exactly that behind-the-scenes knowledge that sets me apart from your average digital marketer.

While in undergrad, I used that experience in real time. I managed the university writing center’s Instagram and grew the page by 166%. I helped larger influencers with content strategy. I also grew my alma mater’s podcast Instagram by 30% and produced its highest-performing reel at the time.

Storytelling comes naturally to me—whether it’s content for social or a full-blown multimedia package. I once interviewed a student about his MBA experience, but by the end of our conversation, I had pitched an entire campaign about his unconventional love story: an Indian man who followed his wife to America while she pursued her dreams. That story turned into a social media campaign, a feature article, and a full photo op.

One of my former supervisors once told me, “You’re a woman of many talents.” And it’s true—my background is rooted in social media, but my creativity reaches far beyond the screen.

As a published and respected writer, photographer, and novice graphic designer, I’ve learned to use all my gifts to tell compelling, human-first stories. From pen to pixel, I know how to bring ideas to life.

So much so that I launched my own one-woman social media agency: Market 31:30 & Co. It’s a part-time passion project where I help small businesses—from brand-new startups to well-established local names—strategize, create, and market digital content that moves. Whether it’s capturing brand photos, writing copy that connects, or designing content that speaks directly to their audience, I meet businesses exactly where they are and help them grow with intention and authenticity.

Because at the end of the day, I don’t just do digital marketing. I live it. I create it. And I get it.

MarketHer? That's Me!

Below are some of the amazing brands I’ve had the opportunity to collaborate with. It was never about follower count or aesthetics—it was about the ability to tell a compelling story that resonated with a brand's mission. From my hometown of Augusta, GA to partnerships with Young King Hair Care, Chicken Salad Chick, Fabletics, Shapermint, Poppilu, Bud Light, The Inspiration Co., Kid to Kid, and more—what made it all possible? Storytelling – the heart of any marketHER.
